Apex Trader Funding FAQ
Short answers about our code, costs, rules, payouts and this site.
Independent site. Not owned, operated, endorsed or sponsored by Apex Trader Funding.
Key takeaways
- Enter our affiliate code DLAB before you pay. Apex can’t add a code after checkout and doesn’t refund missed discounts.
- Coupon codes don’t cover the activation fee. You pay it once, within 7 days of passing: $89 to $159 by size and type, or $0 on No Activation Fee evaluations.
- One fee, no subscription. An EOD or Intraday evaluation gives 30 days of access, with no monthly billing and no resets.
- Payouts follow Apex’s rules. Performance Accounts (PAs) are simulated, each allows at most 6 capped payouts, and payouts are at Apex’s discretion.

Apex coupon code and discounts
What our affiliate code DLAB does at Apex’s checkout, and the fees no coupon code covers. More in our Apex Trader Funding coupon code guide.
What is our affiliate code, and how do I use it?
Our affiliate code DLAB goes in the coupon field at Apex’s checkout. Enter it before you pay, then check the total in the order summary. When you use it, Apex may pay this site a fee. It doesn’t raise your price.
Which evaluations can I use our code on?
You can enter our affiliate code DLAB on any evaluation size, EOD or Intraday. Apex’s checkout shows whether a sale applies that day. Coupon codes don’t apply to the activation fee you pay after passing.
Does Apex run sales on evaluations?
Yes, from time to time. Apex’s help center says evaluation discounts apply only to accounts bought during the sale period. When a sale is running, the order summary at checkout shows the discount after you enter a code. Check it before you pay.
Can a coupon code lower the activation fee or a reset?
No. Apex’s coupon code page says coupon codes can’t be applied to resets or PA activation fees. Check the activation fee shown in your dashboard before you pay it.
Can I use our code on more than one evaluation?
Yes. You can enter our affiliate code DLAB on each new evaluation purchase. The discount is whatever sale Apex runs that day, if any. Apex allows up to 20 active Performance Accounts at once, and it prohibits buying several discounted evaluations to cycle through and blow up on purpose.
I already paid. Can Apex add the code afterwards?
No. Apex’s help center says coupon codes can’t be applied after payment, and it doesn’t refund or adjust missed discounts. Enter our affiliate code DLAB first, and check the order summary before you pay.
What if no discount shows at checkout?
Check that our affiliate code DLAB is in the coupon field, typed with no spaces. If the order summary still shows the full price, Apex may not be running a sale that day. Contact Apex support before you pay if something looks wrong.

Prices
Costs and fees
An EOD or Intraday evaluation costs a one-time fee. Passing adds a one-time activation fee, unless you bought a No Activation Fee evaluation.
How much does an Apex evaluation cost?
As of , Apex’s standard EOD and Intraday evaluations list from $167 for a 25K Intraday to $2,190 for a 150K EOD. During Apex’s sales a coupon code can lower the evaluation price, but not the activation fee. Our pricing guide lists every size.
Is an Apex evaluation a subscription?
Not the EOD and Intraday evaluations. Each is a one-time payment for 30 calendar days of access, so nothing renews and there’s nothing to cancel. Legacy evaluations, which Apex is selling again as a temporary offer, bill monthly until you cancel and can be reset.
What is the activation fee, and when is it due?
It’s a one-time fee to activate your Performance Account after you pass: $89 to $159, depending on size and type. You have 7 calendar days from when Apex marks the evaluation as passed after the market close, and that window can’t be extended. Coupon codes don’t apply to it. Our activation fee guide covers the details.
What happens after I pay the activation fee?
Apex creates your Performance Account with the same login as your evaluation. That can take up to 6 hours, and accounts activated after Friday’s market close aren’t created until Sunday at 6:00 PM ET.
What is a No Activation Fee evaluation?
It’s the same evaluation with a $0 activation fee after you pass. Its rules, drawdown, access period and activation window match the standard version. Coupon codes can’t lower the activation fee, so a sale can change which version costs less. Compare both totals at checkout.
Are there reset fees?
Not on EOD and Intraday evaluations, which can’t be reset. If one fails or expires, its balance doesn’t carry over, and to try again you buy a new evaluation at the price on that day, with a new 30-day access period.
Can I get a refund or switch to another size?
No. Apex says an evaluation fee can’t be refunded, transferred or changed to a different size or type after purchase. The activation fee can’t be refunded or transferred either.
Rules
Evaluation rules
The rules are the same at every size. EOD and Intraday evaluations differ in how the drawdown moves and in the daily loss limit.
How long do I have to pass?
You have 30 calendar days from purchase, weekends and holidays included, with no extensions. There’s no minimum number of trading days: an evaluation passes once it reaches the profit target, as long as every rule was followed.
What are the profit targets?
$1,500 on a 25K, $3,000 on a 50K, $6,000 on a 100K and $9,000 on a 150K. That’s 6% of the starting balance, the same for EOD and Intraday evaluations.
What is the maximum drawdown?
$1,000 on a 25K, $2,000 on a 50K, $3,000 on a 100K and $4,000 on a 150K, on EOD and Intraday evaluations alike. If your balance touches the threshold at any moment, Apex closes your open positions and the evaluation fails. An EOD threshold is set once a day at the close and enforced in real time during the next session. An Intraday threshold trails your highest balance in real time, open profit included. Our EOD vs Intraday guide compares the two.
Is there a daily loss limit?
During the evaluation, only the EOD type has one: $500 on a 25K, $1,000 on a 50K, $1,500 on a 100K and $2,000 on a 150K. Reaching it closes your open positions and pauses trading for the rest of the session, but the evaluation stays active. Intraday evaluations have none. Performance Accounts of both types have their own tiered daily loss limit.
How many contracts can I trade in an evaluation?
Up to 4 on a 25K, 6 on a 50K, 8 on a 100K and 12 on a 150K, and the limit stays fixed for the whole evaluation. Apex counts 10 micro contracts as one mini. Performance Accounts start with lower limits that rise in tiers as the balance grows.
Can I hold trades overnight?
No. Close every position before the market close: 4:59 PM ET for most contracts, earlier for agricultural futures and on CME holiday early-close days. Holding a position through the close is a prohibited activity, and Apex says traders who do it forfeit their accounts.
Can I trade during news releases?
Yes, with your normal strategy. Apex prohibits news strategies that chase the market, place orders on both sides or gamble on the outcome.
Are bots or automated strategies allowed?
No. Apex prohibits automation and algorithmic trading. It says its rewards are meant for human traders, not automated systems.
Is hedging allowed?
No. Holding long and short positions at the same time on the same or correlated instruments is prohibited, and so is hedging evaluations against each other. Apex says prohibited activity leads to immediate account closure.
Which futures can I trade?
The list on Apex’s homepage covers equity index futures such as ES and NQ, plus currency, agricultural, energy, metal and micro futures, including crude oil (CL) and gold (GC). It also lists micro Bitcoin and Ethereum futures, and Eurex contracts such as the DAX, which are available on Tradovate only.
Performance Accounts
Payouts
Performance Accounts are simulated. Apex checks each payout request against its rules, and payouts are at its discretion.
What is the payout split?
It’s 100% of approved payouts on Apex’s EOD and Intraday Performance Accounts. A payout request has to meet every payout rule, and Apex’s risk disclosure says any decision to grant or deny a payout is final.
When can I request a payout?
At the earliest, after 5 qualifying trading days, and only if the account also meets Apex’s other payout rules. A day qualifies when it ends with at least the minimum net profit for your account, $100 to $350 depending on size and type. The days don’t have to be in a row, and there’s no deadline to reach them.
What is the minimum payout?
$500 per request, at every size. Only profit above the safety net can be requested. The safety net is the starting balance plus the maximum drawdown plus $100, and it stays for the life of the account. On a 50K it’s $52,100, so the balance must reach $52,600 before you can request the minimum.
Is there a limit on payouts per account?
Yes. Each Performance Account can receive at most 6 approved payouts, and each one has a cap set by account size, type and payout number, from $1,000 to $5,000. After the last allowed payout, Apex closes the account. Caps are maximums set by Apex’s rules. They are not expected results.
What is the 50% consistency rule?
To request a payout, your best trading day since the last approved payout, or since the account opened if there hasn’t been one, must be less than 50% of your net profit over the same period. Until it is, the payout option stays unavailable. Missing it doesn’t fail the account, and the rule doesn’t apply in the evaluation. Our consistency rule guide shows how to check it.
Can I keep trading after I request a payout?
Yes. Apex says you can keep trading straight away, but asks you to trade as if the requested amount has already left your balance. If the balance falls below the required minimum, the request is denied automatically, and you can request again once the account meets the rules.
Accounts are simulated. Futures trading involves substantial risk of loss. Payouts are at Apex’s discretion and depend on its rules. Nothing here is financial advice.

Accounts and the company
How many accounts you can hold, and what Apex’s own pages say about the company.
Is a Performance Account a live account?
No. Apex calls it a Simulated Funded (Sim Funded) account, and its risk disclosure says all trading in evaluations and Performance Accounts is simulated.
How many accounts can I have?
Up to 20 active Performance Accounts at once, across every size and type. You’re allowed one personal Apex user account, plus one business account if you trade through a company you own. Apex closes extra user accounts, and any profit in them is forfeited.
Can a Performance Account close for inactivity?
Yes. It needs at least 2 trading days with $50 or more in net profit in every rolling 30-day window. If 30 days pass without that, Apex closes the account, and a closed account can’t be reinstated.
What is Apex Live?
An invitation-only program that moves selected traders from Apex’s simulated accounts into live trading. Apex decides who is invited and when. Its Live program FAQ says joining closes your evaluations, refunding only those still active, and deactivates your Performance Accounts. Declining an invitation deactivates your Apex account.
Which countries can I trade with Apex from?
Apex’s restricted countries article says traders from over 100 countries can take part, and it lists the countries where Apex can’t open new or additional accounts. Its risk disclosure says the services are “not directed at, or intended for, residents outside the United States” and that users outside the US must follow their own local laws. Check the list and your local rules before you buy. Using a VPN to hide your location is prohibited.
Is Apex Trader Funding regulated?
No. Apex’s risk disclosure says Apex “is not regulated by financial regulatory authorities” and states: “Apex is not a broker-dealer, futures commission merchant, investment advisor, or any similar financial institution.”
Is Apex Trader Funding legit?
Apex Trader Funding was founded in 2021 and is based in Austin, Texas. Its CEO is Darrell Martin, and it publishes its rules in a public help center. Its homepage showed a Trustpilot score of 4.2/5 from about 21K reviews on . Evaluations and Performance Accounts are simulated, and payouts are at Apex’s discretion. Our full review covers the drawbacks too.
