Fees October 2026

The Apex activation fee, explained

What you pay after you pass, when it’s due, and what a coupon code can’t change.

Independent site. Not owned, operated, endorsed or sponsored by Apex Trader Funding.

Key takeaways

  • You pay it once, and only if you pass. It’s $89 to $159 by size and type, and it opens a Performance Account (PA) of the same size and type as your evaluation.
  • You have 7 calendar days. The clock starts when Apex marks the evaluation passed, after the close. Apex can’t extend it, and a missed deadline ends the pass for good.
  • Coupon codes don’t apply to it. They lower the evaluation fee at checkout. Apex sometimes discounts activation fees in a separate promotion, only until that promotion ends.
  • No Activation Fee evaluations skip it. Their activation fee is $0, and Apex prices them separately.
  • It isn’t refundable or transferable. If the PA later closes, another one takes a new evaluation and a new activation fee.

Accounts are simulated. Futures trading involves substantial risk of loss. Payouts are at Apex’s discretion and depend on its rules. Nothing here is financial advice.

The fee

What the activation fee costs

One fee per Performance Account, set by the size and type of the evaluation you passed. It isn’t a subscription and doesn’t renew.

Activation fee by account size and drawdown type, at Apex’s list price
Account size EODIntraday
25K $109 coupons don’t apply $89 coupons don’t apply
50K $129 coupons don’t apply $99 coupons don’t apply

150K $159 coupons don’t apply $149 coupons don’t apply

Apex list prices as of . On No Activation Fee evaluations the activation fee is $0.

A 5-pack is five separate evaluations, so each one you pass has its own activation fee, unless the pack is No Activation Fee. The fee you actually pay shows in your dashboard after you pass, so check it there first.

What an evaluation costs if you pass

Deadline

The 7-day activation deadline

You have 7 calendar days to pay, counted from the moment Apex marks the evaluation passed, not from the moment you reach the profit target.

When the clock starts

Apex reviews accounts at the market close. If you reached the target, the evaluation is marked passed after the close that day and shows in the Passed Evals section of your dashboard after 6:00 PM ET. Trading after the 6:00 PM ET reopen belongs to the next day’s session, so a target reached at 9:00 PM ET on a Tuesday is marked passed on Wednesday.

The last day to pay

Pay before midnight ET on the 7th calendar day after the pass. In Apex’s example, an evaluation marked passed on Wednesday the 20th can be activated until 11:59 PM ET the following Wednesday, the 27th.

Passing on the last day of access

If the evaluation is marked passed on day 30, you still get the full 7 days, even though the evaluation’s own access period ends.

Apex can’t extend the window. Miss it and the activation option expires for good, so you would need to pass a new evaluation.

A passed evaluation is locked, so you can’t keep trading it. If it was your only active evaluation, your market data access ends too.

Coupon codes

Why coupon codes don’t cover the activation fee

Coupon codes, including our affiliate code DLAB, apply to the evaluation fee at Apex’s checkout. Apex’s coupon code page says coupon codes can’t be applied to resets or PA activation fees.

Activation fee promotions

Apex has run separate promotions on activation fees. Its coupon codes article says a discounted activation fee is valid only through the promotion’s end date, and then the regular fee applies. The discount doesn’t stay with an evaluation just because you bought it during the promotion, and it can be used on evaluations bought before the sale.

So what you pay depends on the day you activate, not the day you bought the evaluation. Check the fee in your dashboard before you pay it.

Coupon codes lower the evaluation fee, not the activation fee. If you decide to buy, enter DLAB at checkout.

Another option

No Activation Fee evaluations

Apex sells each evaluation in a No Activation Fee version. Its rules, drawdown, access period and activation window match the standard version, and the activation fee after you pass is $0.

Which version costs less overall depends on the account, on whether you pass, and on Apex’s sale that day. Our pricing guide compares both versions for every size.

Questions

Questions about the activation fee

How much is the Apex activation fee?

It depends on the evaluation you pass. As of Oct 22, 2026, Apex lists $109 (25K), $129 (50K), $139 (100K), $159 (150K) for EOD, and $89 (25K), $99 (50K), $129 (100K), $149 (150K) for Intraday. It’s $0 on No Activation Fee evaluations.

Can I use a coupon code on the activation fee?

No. Apex’s coupon code page says coupon codes can’t be applied to resets or PA activation fees. Coupon codes, including our affiliate code DLAB, lower the evaluation fee at checkout. Apex sometimes discounts activation fees in a separate promotion, valid only until that promotion ends.

Can Apex extend the 7-day activation window?

No. Apex says the window can’t be extended under any circumstances. If you don’t pay in time, the activation option expires and you need to pass a new evaluation.

Is the activation fee refundable?

No. It’s a one-time payment that Apex doesn’t refund, transfer or reverse. It only activates the Performance Account that matches the size and type of the evaluation you passed.

Do I pay it again if my Performance Account closes?

Yes. If a Performance Account is disqualified, liquidated or closed for inactivity, it’s closed for good. To get another one, you pass a new evaluation and pay a new activation fee.

Is the activation fee charged every month?

No. It’s a one-time payment, not a subscription, and it doesn’t renew. The current EOD and Intraday evaluations are one-time fees too. Legacy evaluations are different: they bill monthly until you cancel.
